2 Times-News, Twin Falls, Idaho Thursday, July 31. 1975 Basques, police battle Vafcy MADRID (UPI) Police using tear gas and tommy guns fought five separate downtown gunbattles with suspected Basque guerrillas in Barcelona and Madrid leaving at least one person dead and several injured, news reports said today. There were contradictory reports on casualties and arrests. Government sources said one person was killed and four injured, Madrid newspapers said probably two were killed, several seriously injured and six arrested in Madrid alone. A shootout in Barcelona Wednesday with suspected members of the underground separatist organization "Basque Homeland and Liberty, known as the ETA, left three bystanders injured and resulted in the arrest of the suspects, the sources said.

(In Bordeaux, France, a Basque refugee organization said the two men captured in Barcelona were Pedro Ignacio Ibehotegui alias Wilson, named as one of the presumed slayers of Spanish Premier Luis Carrero Blanco, and Juan Government sources said the dead was a suspect who committed suicide when she was cornered near Generalissimo Avenue, The news agency Pyresa and newspapers said the probable second death was a youth reported to have succumbed to gunshot wounds in a Madrid hospital. New orders up in June WASHINGTON (UPI) -New orders for manufactured products rose 1.7 per cent in June, the third consecutive monthly rise, the Commerce Department said today. Inventories slumped for the fourth month in a row. The June rise in factory orders, valued at a seasonally adjusted $1.32 billion, followed increases of 0.2 per cent in May and 6.1 per cent in April. Inventories of all manufacturing industries posted a 0.6 per cent, or $900 million decline, continuing a slide that began in March, the department said. It was the longest such falloff in ventories since 1960-61.

Bonnie Jo Claiborn KIMBERLY Mrs. Bonnie Jo Claiborn, 47, Kimberly, died Wednesday morning at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital after a short Illness. Born Feb. 19, 1928, in Fresno, she lived for 10 years in Minneapolis, and married Creighton Nelson in 1948. He died in September of 1964.

She married William L. Claiborn Feb. 5, 1966, in Fresno. Mrs. Claiborn was a past president of the Magic Valley Memorial Hospital Guild and a member of the United Methodist Church in Fresno.

She was a precinct commltteewoman for the Republican Party. Surviving are her husband, Kimberly; four daughters, Kristl Schinbine, Denver, and Kimberly and Kari Nelson, and Lori Claiborn, all Kimberly; four sons, Scot Nelson and Randy Claiborn, both Boise, and Kirk and Scott Claiborn, both Kimberly; her parents 'Mr. and Mrs. Leland Cull and one sister, Avanelle Muirheid, all Fresno, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.

Friday at the Twin Falls United Methodist Church by Brian Munson, minister, under the direction of White Mortuary. The family suggests memorials be made to Magic Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Builder dies BOISE (UPI) John Bruce Bonny, former president of Morrison-Knudsen Company, a Boise-based construction company, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 72. Bonny, who retired in 1969, was associated with M-K in executive capacities for nearly 40 years.

He was president from June, 1960 to January, 1969 and chairman of the board from January, 1968 until he retired in July, 1969. Call 733-0915. M3L Robert II. Berlin BELLEVUE Robert B. Bergin, 50, former Bellevue resident, died Tuesday evening at his home In Heber City, Utah, following a lingering illness. He was born July 30, 1924, at Glendale.

He attended the Glendale Elementary School and graduated from Bellevue High School. He was a veteran of World War II. After the war, he worked in the Triumph Mine near Hailey, until 1946, when he moved to Utah and worked In the mines near Park City The last 15 years he had been foreman at the atomic bomb testing area near Mercury, Nev. Mr. Bergin married Betty Holt in Ogden, Utah, In the early 1950s.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters and one son; four brothers, including Joseph Bergin, Bellevue; Francis Bergin, Shoshone, and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Struchen, Shoshone. I le was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Heber City, with concluding rites at the Heber City Cemetery.

Charles F. Walker TWIN FALLS Charles Edward Walker. 64, Twin Falls, died Wednesday at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born March 5, 1911, at Horton, he married Elva McCoole on March 6, 1933, in Robinson, Kan. Mr.

Walker worked as a welder for many years at Self Manufacturing, Curl Manufacturing and Krengel's. For the past six years he owned and operated Walker's Welding and Repair on Locust Street. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 45 AF and AM. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pat Nance, Sand Springs, and Sandra Uker, Twin Falls; four sisters; four brothers, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and three grandsons. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday and at White Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Robert Seaman officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday and until 10 a.m.

Saturday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with graveside rites by the Masonic Lodge. ALL rUT10! FOR tDVy Per Person Th Independent Traveler George F. Hobertson GLENNS FERRY George Fred Robertson, 78, Glenns Ferry, died Tuesday at a Mountain Home nursing home. Born Feb. 8, 1897, In Montpelier, he attended schools in Glenns Ferry and the University of Idaho, Moscow. Mr.

Robertson served with the U. S. Army during World War I. He worked (or the Glenns Ferry Bank until 1928, when he established Robertson's Hardware and Furniture. He married Cecil Buffington in 1918, in Moscow.

He was a member of American Legion Post 57, Glenns Ferry, and BPOE Lodge No. 310, Boise. Survivors include his wife and one son, James F. Robertson, both Glenns Ferry; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Hulbert, Twin Falls; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Glenns Ferry Veterans War Memorial Hall. Interment will be in Glenn Rest Cemetery, The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to the Elks Rehabilitation Center Boise. (ha F.

Hard TWIN FALLS Mrs. Ora F. Hardy, 85, Twin Falls, died Wednesday morning at a local nursing home following a short illness. Born Aug. 2, 1890, in Mullen, she married Fred Hardy in Mullen on April 30, 1906.

He died June 18, 1940. She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Mullen, and a member of the Mullen Rebekah Lodge. She came to Idaho about 1941. She lived in Portland, for a short period of time and then returned to Twin Falls. Survivors include one daughter, Mabel M.

Parrott, Twin Falls; one brother, E. E. Tucker, Grand Junction, one sister, Susie Barnett, Pittsburg, three daughters-in-law, Minnie Bell Hardy, Twin Falls; Ann Hardy, Portland, and Agnes Hardy, North Platte, 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, five brothers, three sisters, one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m.

Saturday at White Mortuary with Rev. Wesley Skinner officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday and until noon Saturday. Concluding services and burial will be in Mullen. The family suggests memorials to the Heart Fund.

Fred C. Farme TWIN FALLS Graveside services for Fred C. Farmer, 77, Twin Falls, who died Tuesday at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital, were conducted Wednesday evening at the Preston Cemetery. Mr. Farmer was born April 4, 1898, in Clifton, Idaho.

He came to Twin Falls in 1939 as freight agent for the Union Pacific Railroad. He held that post until his retirement. He later engaged In real estate sales and farming. Mr. Farmer was a member of the Fourth Ward LDS Church and on Aug.

20. 1920, he was married to Purdette Simmonsen at Brigham City, Utah. Surviving are three sons. J. R.

Farmer, Centerville, Utah; Fred J. Farmer, St. Louis, and Kelly N. Farmer, Bountiful. Utah; a daughter, Mrs.

Coleen Petersen, San Bernardino, a brother, Rae Farmer, Pocatello; 15 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren. Aarrangements were under direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Fern 1). Gehman HAGERMAN Fern D. Gehman, 75, Hagerman, died Wednesday at Gooding County Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness.

Born Aug. 27,1899, In Des Moines, Iowa, she was married to Phil Gehman in 1935 at Yuma, Ariz. They have lived in Hagerman since that time. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter, Betty Keer, Arco, Nev.
